The format is based on the master’s thesis by Christine Bertl, who investigated the effectiveness of innovative workshop formats for raising awareness of the circular economy. The setting of a co-creation workshop, based on the guidelines of the EU-Horizon-project RURBANIVE, provided a solid foundation for this, allowing space for both divergent and convergent processes. By combining theoretical and empirical findings, an optimized methodological approach for regional workshop formats to raise awareness of circular economy principles in Vienna was identified and tested in practice, which also shows potential beyond the scope of the project.
